From Lynn Hooper:

Thanks to all who helped and those who attended Tanzanian Sunday.  The service was a great celebration of our partnership between GMS partnership and the  Diocese of Meru. Also, we were able to extend community within our congregation, sharing  a meal together. We made some money to return to help in Meru.

We had a great new auctioneer- The one and only- Pastor Matt.

If you wish to still contribute in some way, here are some suggestions:

  • Dollar Store Readers and/or sunglasses (adult or children)
  • Tylenol/acetaminophen
  • Toothpaste- small tubes
  • Alcohol wipes
  • Band aids
  • Benadryl
  • Decongestants
  • Cold medicine (adult/children’s)
  • 80 mg Aspirin
  • Comfort Dolls for Palliative Care (Brenda Kasprovich has the pattern)
  • Cash contributions

I will be leaving for Africa on November 18 and Jessica Meyers will join me at the beginning  of December.

I have told you about the need for an Out-Patient and Emergency Services at the Nkoaranga  Hospital. We have just been informed that FeuerKinder from Germany has completed the  Maternity Building and has now pledged to build the building for the OP and ED services.  That is a true blessing!!!

I plan to meet with people of the Diocese and Leadership. One current and necessary  project is the replacement of the hospital generator. The electricity run by the government  becomes less and less reliable. It goes out almost every day and sometimes, multiple  times in the day. If the generator goes out, a good share of the hospital services will cease, and patients will go without care. Folks from Belgium will be helping with this planning  also,

Blessings and thanks from our Tanzanian partners.
